A creative retreat
for game developers!

So what exactly is
The Jörniverse?

The Jörniverse is a place for game devs to live & work together.

We’re based in a small 600-person village in the North of Sweden, far from the hustle and bustle of big-city life.

We host game devs for short & long stays, plus host game jams & occasionally invite game industry folk (investors etc.) to swing by.

Our community shares the belief that working in a social, collaborative environment improves everyone's creative output!

Can I Volunteer Instead?

Perhaps. We are exploring this option.
Please contact us below.

Kindly note that we need to secure revenue from paying guests first, and we will only seriously consider applicants who will stay long-term as volunteers.
Good organisational and people skills are highly valued, too.

Where is The Jörniverse?

Train: We have a train station (around 10 mins walk from The Jörniverse), and you can take a direct night train from Stockholm to get here. It’s a long trip but an experience with all the sights along the way. On the train, you can choose private rooms, shared sleeping bunks, or a seat (we recommend bringing an eye mask, camping pillow, earplugs & a blanket - if choosing a seat - to maximise rest).

Flying: Our closest airport is Skellefteå. There are always flights from Stockholm, but it’s also possible to fly in from several international airports (with Ryanair flights from Gdańsk often being the cheapest) - for details, check out the airport’s website. Other nearby airports include Luleå and Umeå. We might be able to pick you up from the airport if it fits our schedule. But also, a bus goes from the airport to Skellefteå, from where you can connect to Jörn. ‍

Combination: The night train stops at Arlanda Airport, so it's possible to get off a flight and jump on board (just allow for ample time in case of delays/ baggage collection).goes from the airport to Skellefteå, from where you can connect to Jörn.

Driving: We have parking spots available for anyone who wants to drive all the way up here. It can be a long trip though (est. 16 hours from Malmö without stopping), so it can be a good idea to stop somewhere overnight if you're travelling the length of Sweden.
